As this journey nears the beginning, I am getting all my ducks in a row, so to speak. Batteries, check. Underwear, check. Camping gear, check. Reason for doing this, very clear: raising awareness and raising money for wounded veteran programs. Again, thank you to the many individuals, businesses and corporate sponsors that have understood the task ahead of me and provided items and funding for the walk. Visit “Donate” on the website if you would like to be a part of this project.
As far as awareness, I will be available along the route, wearing the U.S. Marine Dress Blues to offer a presentation to schools and service organizations in one of all of the following catagories: Flag Etiquette, Honor Guards, Veterans-How We Serve in Our Communities, and The Walk. Visit Contacts on the website to schedule a presentation.
Thank you also to those who have stepped up and offered an overnight place to stay, shower, and refresh. If you know of any good friends or relatives along the route (see the Maps section of the website) that may be interested in helping in this fashion, I would enjoy the chance to meet them. I will be self-sufficient and self-contained, but would enjoy an evening visiting as well. You can call me directly at (406) 270-5735.
The journey begins Easter Sunday morning, 0900, at the American Legion Memorial Park, Everett, WA. Join me at the start if you are near the area!
